Borrow from another library

Our library is connected to other libraries throughout the state and nation. If you can't find an item in this library, ask library staff to help you get it from another library.

The Norma Anders Public Library is pleased to offer Interlibrary Loan services to our patrons.  If there is a book you want to read and do not see in our collection please feel free to request that we try to obtain the book through this great service.  If the books is requested and we can obtain it for you the cost will be three dollars per request.   You can request any format you would like including books on CD, paperback, hardcover and DVD's.

The books are usually available for a period of one month on average and in some cases the lending libraries may allow renewals.

The library will notify you when the item you request arrives or if the library is unable to provide the item due to no copies being available. When you request a book the librarian will check on the Silo web site to see if the book is available and how many libraries have that item. If you would like to be notified through e-mail please provide your e-mail address.  We ask that you come as soon as possible to pick the item up so that you can take full advantage of the lending period of that item.  If you have not picked the item up in a few days the library will call again and if the item is still not picked up it will be sent back.

This service makes it so much easier for patrons who want books that might not be something the library normally carries in their collection.  This enables you to get a book from any library and not have to travel to that library.  It helps make library books much more accessible to a wider range of reading tastes.  The library is happy to provide this service to it's patrons and the service is made possible through the State Library of Iowa.
