Early Literacy Programs & Activities

Preschool Stories & More

Join us Monday mornings at 10:15 a.m. for music, movement, interactive stories and more. Afterwards, stay and play in our children’s area. Explore, create, build, and make new friends. 

1000 Books Before Kindergarten

1000 Books Before Kindergarten is a free easy-to-follow early literacy program designed to help parents and children get in the habit of reading on a regular basis. Reading together helps children improve language and social emotional skills, develop pre-reading skills and creates life-long memories. Contact the library for more information and to register.

StoryWalk (TM) & STEAM Centers 

Follow the pages of a story around the inside of the library while building and crafting with coordinating centers. 

Scavenger Hunts

Find the ducks to make words or find clues to solve riddles. 

Melissa & Doug Play Food Sets

Kids develop reading comprehension skills when they follow the recipes and take orders while playing with these engaging sets.
